Opportunities for International Collaboration in China's Healthcare Reform

Author: Zongyu John Chen, MD PhD, USCHIE Editor-in-Chief
In the past several decades, the world has witnessed the dramatic success in China’s economic development. However, few in the outside world knew that China was not as successful in its efforts to reform its healthcare system.Despite the often very impressive new hospital buildings fitted with new and advanced medical equipment and many devoted Chinese healthcare providers, healthcare delivery in China remains far from ideal and patient satisfaction is often unbelievably low in many if not most Chinese hospitals.
